About Taste Cheshire

If you are looking for great Cheshire Restaurants, a unique place to drink or simply want some quality locally sourced food and drink then Taste Cheshire is your go-to guide.

Taste Cheshire - Our job is to connect you with a real “Taste of Cheshire”. The best independently run restaurants, that superb local pub that goes out of its way to offer home cooked food sourced from local suppliers, outstanding food and drink festivals, of which our county has more than any other and a wealth of incredible local producers and farm shops.

Visiting our site means you are finding the places and products that the locals know about. Your are engaging with events that make being in Cheshire a special experience and above all your are in the heart of the County of Food and Drink – Cheshire.

Our natural produce is world-renowned and rooted in history. Cheshire Cheese is Britain’s oldest named cheese. It dates back to Roman Britain and gets a special mention in the Domesday Book of 1086. In the 16th century Cheshire cheese was reputed to be the best cheese of Europe and was a favourite at the Court of Elizabeth I – that’s some pedigree

Another familiar favourite is Mornflake, who have been milling oats in the South Cheshire countryside since 1675, making them the longest established miller of oats and cereal in the UK.

You’ll find a superb choice of places to eat and drink from a Michelin star restaurant to an idyllic country inn throughout the region. The Chester Grosvenor is only one of four restaurants in the UK to have been awarded a Michelin star consecutively for the past 22 years. In addition, it is one of only a small number of restaurants in the UK to be awarded 4 AA Rosettes.

We also have an array of young guns who are producing outstanding foods as Chef Du Patrons. Take a look at Chefs Table and Luke’s Eating House – just two in Chester. Venture out to The Lawns at Thornton Hall and Browns at The Mere Resort, all of whom are just a wonderful Cheshire dining experiences.
