5 Top Wedding Trends for 2015

5 Top Wedding Trends for 2015

If you are one of the many lucky brides-to-be planning your special day this year - get ahead with some of the gorgeous new trends for 2015!

With the plethora of wonderful venues and beautiful backdrop of the Cheshire plains, it could be seen as relatively easy to make your special day in our county look exquisite. However, no wedding day is complete without a theme, and S|S 2015 sees a new wave of colour, jewellery and flower fashions.

Jacinta Dawn from Taffeta Events shares her top five wedding trends that you'll want to embrace this year.

Rose Gold Rings

Don't get me wrong, this trend won't be for everyone but if you have a penchant for gold then you're in luck! White metals have dominated the market for years now and yellow gold has taken the back seat but, in keeping with the fashion market, we'll be seeing a big surge of rose gold engagement and wedding jewellery this year.

It's such a beautiful and feminine colour which really offsets the sparkle of the diamond and due to it being less traditional than yellow gold, it will probably not date as easily. Hale jewellers, Steven Stone, have really embraced the rose gold trend already and currently have a wonderful selection of engagement rings in stock.

Cool Blue Hues

Fashionistas will have waited eagerly for Pantone's announcement of Spring 2015's colour palette. Aptly name 'en plein air', the collection features largely cool yet soft hues that evoke a feeling of freshness and being connected to nature. So no surprise then, that pastel blues and aquamarines are 'red hot' colours for 2015 weddings.

The beauty of aquamarine, in particular, is that it is a beautifully feminine and calming shade for your bridesmaids that will complement your white dress and team well with other colours you may want in your theme such as a soft grey or pale lemon such as this lace off the shoulder gown from Couture Dresses. These shades are obviously perfect for spring weddings and will continue to be strong contenders for your summer or winter wedding too.

Off-The-Shoulder Wedding Dresses

After last year's dalliance with the pink wedding dress, it's unsurprising that this year the cool blue trend has worked its way into bridal fashion too frosted tones are going to be huge on the aisle this year. In fact, non-traditional dresses are becoming more and more prevalent with brides at the moment. However, one trend that is more traditional, feminine and set to be super popular is the off-the-shoulder wedding dress.

Whimsical and romantic, this style is perfect for the bride who wants to feel elegant on their special day with just a little bit of skin showing. Knutsford Wedding Gallery have a gorgeous selection to choose from. For a more modern take on an old classic, choose a dress with slightly slimmer 'sleeves' and accessorise with a simple pearl necklace.

Pretty Pastel Flowers

In 2014, it was all about the leaf. Pinterest boards were full of brides lusting over earthy, sophisticated greens lining aisles and topping tables and flowers, in a lot of cases, were few and far between. In 2015, the flower is back: think beautiful vases overflowing with blooms and perfectly picked pastels tying in with your colour scheme. Hydrangeas, orchids and hyacinths should be the flowers of choice to create a beautiful and luxurious feel.

Edible Favours

By no means a new trend but certainly one that is showing no signs of going away, the edible favour continues to be a firm favourite with couples on their big day. The great thing about this trend is that it is so versatile and so easy to customise and fit in with your theme and personalities. From homemade jam to jars of sweets, little chocolates to brownie bites, there is no limit to the possibilities and you can guarantee your guests certainly won't be leaving them behind.
